Members of the Principality Building Society Cardiff 100 Half Marathon Club gathered to unveil this year’s finalists’ t-shirts.
With four weeks to go until the October 6 race, a training event was held to allow the group to interact and ask questions of race director and two-time Olympic marathoner Steve Brace.
The long-awaited finalists’ t-shirt has been unveiled, highlighting this year’s race theme: “A Race for All.”
With thousands of people supporting the Cardiff Half each year, organisers of the Run 4 Wales event wanted to honour the diversity of the capital’s residents, a key aspect of its welcoming nature.
To ensure the most inclusive event to date, the team engaged with a wide range of demographics – across age, gender, religious beliefs, ethnicities, sexualities and disabilities – inviting participants to take part as runners, volunteers and spectators.

As part of this initiative, Run 4 Wales has once again launched its 100 Club programme, offering 100 race places.
The initiative aims to diversify the sport and remove barriers faced by some at mass participation events.
This year, participants came from community groups including Pride Cymru, Oasis, Mwslima Running Club and Cardiff Muslim Runners among others.
Steve Brace, Race Director for Run 4 Wales, said: “It was fantastic to see so many members of our 100 Club and Cardiff Half supporters come to our training event to interact with each other and show their interest in running.
“Run 4 Wales believes in the power of mass participation and its ability to improve the mental and physical health of the nation by inspiring people to take up running and make positive changes in their lives, and we hope that our 100 Club runners will continue to inspire others.
“We were incredibly excited to also unveil this year’s Cardiff Half finishers’ t-shirt, which celebrates not only the diversity of the event, but also everything that makes Wales and Cardiff great.
“We hope this year’s finalists love it as much as we do.”
