An INVERCLYDE student has become the first junior girl to win the Greenock Golf Club Girls Championship.
Breaking records at 15, Clydeview Academy student Jayla Kepler only launched her golf career four years ago.
She triumphed over veteran player Dorothy Fisher on the par-three 13th hole, winning matches six and five.
With an impressive sporting profile, Jayla is among the top 10 golfers in her age category on the Junior Tour Scotland.
She also made her mark off the court as an ambassador for the Junior Tour.
Inspired by golf magicians Jordan Spieth and Lexi Thompson, Jayla is also set to represent Junior Tour Scotland at the IMG Barcelona U16 Championship in Barcelona this month.
Outside of the league, Jayla also has a three-year sponsorship deal with engineering company XBuro UK Ltd.
His father Colin said the company’s support had helped increase his participation in tournaments across Scotland and help develop his game.
Looking ahead, Jayla is focused on working hard on her game and hopes to eventually earn a golf scholarship and play college golf in the United States.
